Gunner urges NT residents get COVID tested, close contacts grow to 460

NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner has urged residents to get tested, as close contacts reported have now risen to 460.

It comes as the territory recorded an additional three new COVID-19 cases overnight, bringing the Katherine cluster to 40.

One was an infant from Robinson River, the second a man in his 40s who had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and the other an unvaccinated woman in her 20s.

“Testing continues to be crucial, please keep getting tested,” Mr Gunner told a media conference on Tuesday.

“The close contact number now stands at 460 – 453 are located and isolated.

“These contacts return 406 negative results so far.”
