The 2021 AFL draft has been rocked by news that a club staff member in attendance on the opening night has tested positive to COVID-19.
The staff member was at a club suite at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium before attending an official draft event at the London Tavern in Richmond.
The opening round of the draft was held last night and the remaining rounds, including the rookie draft, will be held tonight.
The draft will proceed under extra attention to risk mitigation for the health and safety of those in attendance.
Everyone will undergo rapid antigen tests on arrival and masks will have to be worn at all times.
North Melbourne selected South Adelaide’s Jason Horne-Francis with pick one in the draft.
Twenty selections were made on the first night and Fremantle will kick-start night two with pick 21.
